ASX-listed exploration company Pioneer Lithium has appointed Michael Beven as new CEO, effective immediately. The appointment comes as Pioneer looks to expand its footprint in critical minerals exploration, focusing on uranium and other high-value resources.

Beven is an experienced exploration geologist with more than a decade of expertise across a diverse range of minerals, including uranium, rare earths, lithium, gold, copper, and titanium. His technical experience spans key projects in Australia, Brazil, and Canada, and his leadership will be key in advancing Pioneer’s newly acquired assets, including the Skull Creek uranium project in Colorado, US, and the Warmbad uranium project in Namibia.

As a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, Beven holds a Bachelor of Mineral Geoscience from the University of Adelaide. Throughout his career, he has accumulated significant experience in exploration, project management, and tenement development. His previous roles include serving as senior project geologist at Petratherm, where he managed drill programmes, geochemical surveys, and tenement strategies. He also worked at Marmota and Core Exploration, honing his expertise in mineral targeting and resource delineation.

With Beven’s appointment, Robert Martin will transition from his role as executive chairperson to nonexecutive chairperson of Pioneer. This change aligns with the company’s strategic shift towards operational execution and exploration growth under Beven’s leadership.
